OHIO
An individual that holds a license to practice cosmetology, a branch of cosmetology, barbering, or an instructor/teacher
license is required to complete the following CE hours:
- One (1) hour – Board Laws and Rules Course
This course will be applied to multiple licenses.
NOTE: Only provided by the Board, available on CE Broker - Three (3) hours – Infection Control & Safety
This course will be applied to multiple licenses.
All Barber CE hours are required to be completed by August 15, 2026.
All Cosmetology CE hours are required to be completed by January 15, 2025.
If you are required to complete CE hours, and those hours are NOT completed by the deadline, you will not be able to complete your license renewal until new CE courses become available. If a license is NOT renewed by the expiration date of the license held, a late fee will be charged.
Renewal Of A License Is a 2-Step Process
- Complete all required CE hours. Completion of CE hours is reported to CE Broker by the Provider of the CE class.
- Go to https://elicense.ohio.gov log in to your E-license account and complete the renewal application and submit the required fee(s).
